Great Ipad Activity!!!!!

TOPIC

Let’s go to the dentist

CONTEXT

·        This session is intended for students of first grade of primary

CONTENT OBJECTIVES

1.    Correct use of Ipad
2.    Work in collaborative groups and solve activities
3.    Participate in activities that require critical thinking.
4.    Participate in activities requiring ICT knowledge.



LANGUAGE OBJECTIVE

1.    Key vocabulary
2.    Justify their answers properly

CONTENTS, COMPETENCES AND PROCESS

1.    Use of information in order to state a clear opinion.
2.    Connect ideas and skills in real-life situations.
3.    Collaborative pair and small group’s promotion

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSAL

This activity includes: discussions of experience, sharing knowledge, wondering out loud and raising questions.

The teacher (dressed as a little girl) loses a tooth and The Tooth Fairy comes to pick it up. She will tell them that she is sad because the tooth is not healthy, and she has lost some healthy teeth on her way to the party.  

Using the Ipad and the APP Puppets Edu, students, divided in small groups, will have to re-create the story told by the Toothfairy.

Once they have them all, they have to show them to their classmates and discuss the differences and similarities.

DESCRIPTION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION

MATERIALS:

  • · Ipad



EVALUATION:

The teacher will assess the students based on these aspects:

1.    Communicative abilities and uses of English (discussion)
2.    Attitude towards learning
3.    Behavior in classroom (during the creation of the stories)


ASSESMENT:

  • To assess student understanding over the course of the lesson, walk around the room while students are working.
  • Revise each group project made with the app.

ASPECTS TO IMPROVE ON THE APP:

  • ·        Lack of backgrounds and landscapes  (forest, beach, etc.)
  • ·        No samples
  • ·        The examples provided are for older students
